Introducing the D.C. Children’s Institute

Roberta Eisen, M.Ed., LPC, NCC, and Carly Blackstone, PsyD, of Eisen Blackstone Group announce a newly formed non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children navigating the challenges of high-conflict family cases in the DC area: The D.C. Children’s Institute (DCCI).

At the heart of our mission is the well-being of children caught in the crossfire of familial disputes. Our intention is to provide both research and clinical information to family court judges on the impact of children caught in these conflicts. The Institute will provide the necessary resources, counseling, and support to cope with the emotional toll of litigation on the children.

DCCI strives to be a children’s justice and mental health resource center, ensuring that no child feels unheard during the uncertainties of familial transitions. We envision a community where children have access to timely and effective services, advocating for their needs throughout the legal process.

Initially, our three core categories include Judicial education, therapeutic parent coordination, and children’s therapy. These encompass a range of services such as individual therapy, family therapy, co-parenting counseling, reunification therapy and court appearances on behalf of children’s best interests. Additionally, we plan to offer groups for children and parents, internship programs, mediation, and parent coaching. Our programs aim to provide holistic support and protection for children, recognizing the unique challenges faced by each child.
